Billionaire Builders, #2.5

BLURB

Bolivar Randy Heart (aka Brady) knows exactly what he wants next in life: the perfect wife. Raised in a strict traditional family household, he seeks a woman who is sweet, conservative, and eager to settle down. With his well-known protective and dominant streak, he needs a woman to offer him balance in a world where he relishes control. Too bad the newly hired, gorgeous, rehab addict is blasting through all his preconceptions and wrecking his ideals…one nail at a time…

Charlotte Grayson knows who she is and refuses to apologize. Growing up poor made her appreciate the simple things in life, and her new job at Pierce Brothers Construction is perfect to help her carve out a career in renovating houses. When an opportunity to transform a dilapidated house in a dangerous neighborhood pops up, she goes in full throttle. Unfortunately, she’s forced to work with the firm’s sexy architect who’s driving her crazy with his archaic views on women. Too bad he’s beginning to tempt her to take a chance on more than just work…one stroke at a time…

Somehow, some way, they need to work together to renovate a house without killing each other…or surrendering to the white-hot chemistry knocking at the front door.

 REVIEW
I am a huge fan of  Jennifer Probst books and the Billionaire Builders series is one of  my  favorites series by her, so when I got the chance to read Some How ,Some Way  I was thrilled and I dived into this book as  soon I could and it was  just such  a  fantastic read . I love a good  Alpha male in book  so  Brady was just wonderful to  read  about and Charlotte  was  sassy , fun  , fiery  and  so  very cool   I loved her !. In a lot of ways these two seem  like complete opposites   but as you read you see they are just perfect for  each other !.I love how the renovation of the house was incorporated in the book and that we also got  glimpse of  other characters from  past book in this series. This was such a good novella ,it was sexy , fun and kept my eyes glued to the page  .  Brady and Charlotte got  a perfect story and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. If you  love all these things in your books you should definitely get a copy .

An Erotic Short

Synopsis:

This erotic short was originally included in the Incognito and Revealed Anthology.

When Scarlet is offered the opportunity to work one night in a popular sex club, her initial reaction is to say no. Learning that the amount of money she'd earn by being part of a Harem-themed event would get her out of debt and give her a nice nest egg, she throws her Inhibitions aside. What she doesn't expect is that the procurer of the Harem night scene is someone from her past. That discovery has Scarlet participating in the event rather than blending into the background. What begins as one night might just change the rest of her life.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done. Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant. Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning. Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant. I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking. Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West. This was going to be interesting… ADD TO GOODREADS

Blog Tour - Dating-Ish By Penny Reid

DATING ISH BLOG TOUR BANNER

Dating-ish, an all new standalone from the USA Today bestselling Knitting in the City romantic comedy series by Penny Reid is available now!

20170306 Dating ish 01 (2)
'Dating-ish' can be read as a standalone, is a full length 100k word novel, and is book #6 in the Knitting in the City Series.
There are three things you need to know about Marie Harris: 1) She's fed up with online dating, 2) She's so fed up, she's willing to forego the annoyance and consider more creative alternatives, and 3) She knows how to knit.
After the most bizarre and irritating first date in the history of humankind, Marie is looking for an alternative to men. With the help of her friends, she quickly identifies a few possibilities:
Need a cuddle? Use a professional cuddler. Need affirmation? Get yourself a life coach. Need an orgasm? Try orgasm meditation! Why does she need the hassle of a romantic partner when she can meet all her needs with paid services?
But then her irritating date resurfaces. And he's not at all the person she thought he was. And he suggests a different--and crazier--solution to her dilemma . . .
As everyone knows (or will soon come to realize), traditional relations between humans are a thing of the past. Robots are our future. And if robots are our future, then why do we need other people at all?

REVIEW

After reading a few of Penny Reid books, in my mind she officially on my favorites  list, so
you can just imagine how eager I was to read Dating- ish. The second I got the chance I dived into this story and it was fantastic .

In this book we follow Marie and on her  most recent  attempt at  online dating , she ending up having  one very  awkward date with Matt that makes  her think and its time to  throw in the towel on  online dating . However  as she is telling all of her friends about her horrible dating  experience  , guess who shows up ?  Matt and he ends up revealing that the date  was all apart of  experiment to gain information for  a project involving   robots and this really  where the story takes off. I love these two together! there romance was sexy , quirky and unique. I never expected things in unfold they way they did  because  honestly  just  from the way  they meet you would think it would  go down hill , but as  they work together and got to know  each other I  began to see that these two where absolutely perfect for each other, I just loved everything  about this couple. I felt that Marie and Matt got the perfect story , I was so sad to see this book  end .Dating - ish was sexy , quirky , unique , fun story that kept my  eyes  glued to every word.I cannot wait to see what  Penny Reid writes next  ! this book is  definitely one of the best books I have read this year !.If you love all these things in your stories then you should defiantly pick up a copy .

Excerpt:

He was quiet for bit, we both were, and I felt myself relax more and more. His palm took a detour every so often, dutifully skipping my hip and sliding along my side, and then back to my leg. Soon, I was so relaxed I felt drowsy. I felt fingers in my hair, moving the mass away from my neck with treasuring strokes just before Matt nuzzled the back of my neck, causing goosebumps to scatter over my skin. “Mmm.” I smiled. “Hey. Jared said no tickling.” My voice sounded sleepy. “Does this tickle?” Matt asked softly, nuzzling me again. I felt the brush of his lips—not a kiss, a brush—paired with hot breath against the bare skin of my neck and a zing shot straight down my spine, making my toes curl and a sudden hot ache twist in my lower belly. Oh no. I knew that ache. I hadn’t felt it because of another person’s touch in quite a long time. Nevertheless, no one ever forgets that ache. My back arched instinctively, my bottom pressing back against his crotch, and I stiffened. I felt my nipples harden, strain beneath the cotton of my bra. I was now fully awake. No longer drowsy. Nope. Not even a little. Matt stiffened, too. His movements abruptly ceasing. “Are you okay? What’s wrong?” he asked, alarm coating his words, and in the next moment his hand was suspended in the air above me. “Did I touch something I shouldn’t?” I exhaled a short, nervous laugh, gripped by the urge to sit up. “No. No. You didn’t.” I moved to the edge of the bed, righting myself, away from Matt, needing distance. “I’m good.” I gathered a silent breath and released it slowly because my pulse was racing. Crap, Marie. Get a grip. It’s Matt Simmons. Professor Matt. The big kid. Why are you reacting this way? “Did I . . .” These initial words were hesitant, and a moment of silence stretched before he continued, his tone comically teasing as he finished his thought. “Did I arouse you?” I snorted, shaking my head, laughing at his silly tone. Turning at the waist to peer at him over my shoulder, Matt was grinning at me, twisting a make-believe mustache between his thumb and forefinger. But then he stopped. “I did, didn’t I?” he pushed, his hand dropping. He looked pleased, if not a little amazed. I sighed, feeling a smidge embarrassed, and nodded. “Actually, yes. That’s a sensitive spot for most women.” “The back of your neck?” He lifted himself to one elbow, his eyes darting to my neck with keen interest. “My neck in general, actually.” “Huh.” Matt frowned thoughtfully. “Where else?” I pressed my lips together and gave him an incredulous look. “I’m not telling you that.” “Why not?” “Matt.” “What if I needed it for research reasons?” “Matt.” “What if I told you it was part of our questionnaire?” He tossed his legs over the side of the bed and stood, walking around to my side and offering me his hand. “You should give me a schematic of your body with the erogenous zones circled and rated.” “Let me guess, you want them rated on a ten-point scale,” I deadpanned as I accepted his hand, stood, and stepped away to gain some distance and straighten my shirt. He shrugged, crossing his arms, stalking after me. “Or exponential. I was going to say a Likert scale, but a logarithmic scale works, too.” Chuckling, appreciative of his attempt to diffuse my embarrassment and awkwardness with the joke, I realized Matt Simmons wasn’t a bad guy. He might even be a good guy, just a little . . . peculiar. And wants to replace romantic relationships with robots. Best not forget that detail. Yeah, he’d make an interesting friend. “Thanks.” I gave him a small smile. “For what?” His eyes moved between mine. “For the cuddle. Thanks for the cuddle, Matt.” “Anytime, Marie.” He grinned down at me, his eyes dancing as he leaned forward and whispered, “Anytime.”

Exclusive Excerpt:

“What are you doing here?” “Picking you up for dinner,” he said. “It’s only three thirty. I prefer to put at least six hours between meals and I ate lunch at noon.” “I’m not here to take you now, Emmy. But I’m giving you a heads-up that I’ll be back at five thirty. Don’t drive home.” “You could have texted me all of this,” I said. “Yeah. But then I wouldn’t have been able to do this.” He crossed the space between us in a millisecond and captured my mouth, wrapping his arms around my waist. His lips pressed roughly against mine as his tongue swept my lower lip. Over and over he stroked until my mouth fell open. When his tongue found mine, I melted. Heat erupted throughout my body and my knees gave out. When I started to sink to the floor, he stopped kissing me but tightened his grip on my waist. “I’ve got you.” A crooked grin formed on his lips. I took a moment to steady my legs and stand tall before stepping back a foot. The skin around my mouth was surely pink from the contact with his beard. But at least it would match my flushed cheeks. “Five thirty,” he said and walked out the door. Shit. Thinking clearly was not an option after a Nick kiss but I really needed to pull myself together. I’d spent last night tossing and turning, replaying all the things Nick had told me these last few months. You’ve always had my heart, Emmy. We’re it for each other. I thought about you every day for nine years. And I thought about what my mother had said. That my heart had already forgiven him and I just needed to get my head straight with that concept. Sinking into my chair, I let my head fall into my hands. “What am I going to do?” I tried to picture what our life could be like. Me happy. Nick and I living a normal life. But every time that image popped in my head, it was immediately followed by the vision of me waking up alone to a note that said he was sorry. Time was ticking away and I needed to make some decisions. My attorney had emailed me while I was in Italy to say he’d have my divorce papers drafted by the end of the month. Nick was not going to stop inserting himself into my life unless I made it clear we were over. Were we over? For nine years, I’d thought we were. But so much was different now. He was everything that I remembered. Kind. Affectionate. Intelligent. And stubborn. Every time I tried to push him away, he just pushed back harder. But honestly, I really hadn’t put up much of a fight against his advances. “Ten seconds ago, you let him stick his tongue down your throat with no fight at all, Emmeline,” I mumbled into my hands.

EXCERPT

I wipe the back of my hand over my forehead and glance at my notes when suddenly, the air in the room shifts. It’s subtle, but I feel it. The hair stands up on my neck. I haven’t felt this in six years. “You can get back in your Ferrari and go away,” I say casually without looking over at the doorway and do my best to ignore the damn zoo that’s come awake in my stomach. “I don’t have a Ferrari,” he replies. His voice hasn’t changed at all. It’s thick like melted milk chocolate, and he still has his southern accent. I don’t know why that surprises me. “Well, whatever horse you rode in on? Ride back out on it.” I hear him sigh, but I refuse to look at him. Because just one look will suck me in, and I’ve vowed never to be sucked in by Mason Coulter ever again. “It’s good to see you, Lena.” “Mm hmm.” I pretend to study my notes, but I don’t actually see the words anymore. “Good to see you, too.” “You haven’t even looked over here.” I can hear the smile in his voice. It makes me cringe. “What do you want?” “I want you to look at me,” he replies. “Well, we don’t always get what we want.” Yes, I’m being a bitch, and no, I’m not sorry. Mason was the one. The one that I fell head over heels for, the one that charmed the pants off of me, literally, and then he just left. He disappeared, and I was left here, wondering what in the hell happened. Wondering what I did wrong because I was twenty-two and na├»ve and so heartsick for him I thought I wouldn’t survive it. But I did. “So, you’re still mad?” I blink rapidly for a second, and then I can’t help it. I turn and take him in, from the top of his gorgeous, dark head to the tip of his designer shoes, and my body immediately comes to life. Panties are singed. And if I thought it was hot in here ten minutes ago, it’s an inferno now. Damn him. He just had to stay hot, didn’t he? I mean, couldn’t he have lost all of his hair? Gained a whole bunch of weight? Something? “You could say I’m still mad,” I reply, proud of myself for sounding calm and indifferent to him, when I’m anything but indifferent. “So unless you came in here to tell me you have a terminal illness, you can just turn around and go. I’m not interested in chit chat.” “You were always good at chit chat,” he says and flashes that perfect smile at me. But there’s something there, in his smile that tells me something isn’t quite right. And I’m just a sucker because I’m about to ask him what it is. I should stay firm and ask him to go. But first, I need to settle an old score. “You know,” I begin and put the cap on the blue marker. I set it down and turn to fully face him. “The last time I saw you, you said you’d be right back.” “I said I’d see you soon,” he says, the smile fully leaving his face now. “And then you just bailed.” He sighs and leans against the doorjamb. He crosses his arms over his chest and glances down at his shoes, then back up at me. “I owe you an apology for that.” “Yeah. You do.” “I’m sorry.” His grey eyes are holding my own, and I can see the sincerity there, hear it in his voice. “I am truly sorry, Lena.” I nod and turn away. “Thanks.” “And I need your help.” Of course he does. This couldn’t be a quick, I want to stop in to see how you are, apologize, and go on my merry way. No, it has to be complicated. “My Aunt Claudia passed away last week.” “Oh, Mason.” I turn quickly, blinking rapidly. I’m so sorry. I liked her very much.” He nods. “Thank you.” Mason and his Aunt Claudia were very close. I believe that we all have that one special family member that we bond with, who is important in our lives, and for him, it was his aunt. He spent summers with her here in New Orleans when he was young. “I hadn’t heard that she’d passed.” That must be what I see behind his eyes. I don’t have the psychic abilities that my best friend, Mallory, has. But I can sense things. I want to hug him, to comfort him, but I stay planted where I am because I know what his touch will do to me. “I’d planned to come to town and quickly take care of her estate, but it seems Aunt Claudia had other plans.” He laughs humorlessly and shakes his head, looking at the ceiling. “The attorney informed me that she was very clear that you were to come with me to the reading of the will.” “Me?” I frown. “Why? I only met her a couple of times.” He shrugs and pushes his hand through his hair, in the say way he did six years ago. But now the muscles under his black T-shirt are more defined, tanner from all of the hours he spends outside digging around for old things. Mason is a well-known and important archeologist. “You know that she was a bit… eccentric.” He smiles. “It’s one of the reasons I loved her so much. She did what she wanted, and she wanted this.” “I see.” I swallow and stare out of the windows at the trees. There’s a slight breeze today. I walk over and open the window, wiggle my fingers and feel the breeze blow in my room. “And if I refuse?” “If you refuse, her estate will be donated to the city of New Orleans.” My head whips around to stare at him again. “I know, it’s a lot of pressure. I don’t need her money, Lena. Archeology has been good to me. But I loved her, and I’d like to do right by her.” I take a deep breath and let it out slowly. So, he’s not here because he wanted to see me. He’s here because his aunt didn’t give him a choice. He’s right, it is a lot of pressure. “You can think about it,” he says. He pulls a business card from his pocket and sets it on the desk closest to him. “That’s my cell number. I need to be at the attorney’s office on Friday at 2:00 in the afternoon. If you decide you’re willing to go with me, I wrote the address on the back.” I nod, staring at the small square of white paper. “Lena?” “Yeah?” My gaze finds his again and he smiles, as if remembering something especially sweet. “You look fantastic. You’ve hardly changed at all.” “Oh, I’ve changed.”

REVIEW
I have heard nothing but  amazing things about Helena Hunting  books , however I have unfortunately not gotten the chance to read this any books as yet (until now ) ,so when I get the chance to read an Arc of Shacking Up I was so excited to dive in and Oh My Gosh  was this  book  fantastic.Helena Hunting is  Amazing !

In this book we Ruby and  Bane and  lets just say there  relationship had  a very  interesting start ,however  now that  Ruby is  basically out  of  place to live and has no steady job yet , her best friend has a solution for her , become  house sitter & pet sitter and guess who the house  & pets belongs to ? Bane ,this is really where the story takes off. I love the romance between these  two from the  very  beginning you could see that these two  were  attracted to each other,  but as we get deeper into the story you see  these feeling  intensifying . The moments where you see them together in a romantic way has to be some of my favorite moments , but honestly just seeing them have a regular conversation made me happy. if I had to describe there romance in 3 words  they would be  sexy  , fun and swoony. Besides the  fantastic romance  there was so much other things happening in this story , I loved Ruby relationship with her best  friend ,  bane's exotic pets , I could go on and on about things I love in this story . Shaking Up was  a fantastic story , I  was rapidly turning each  page  needing to know  what  would happen next . I felt like Ruby and  Bane  got a perfect story and I cannot wait to see what  Helena Hunting  will write next ( I am going through her back list  for other books to read by her while as soon as I am finish with this review) . If you are looking for  sexy  romantic comedy that will make it hard for you to even think about   pressing the off  button on your reading device or closing the book then you should definitely get a copy of Shacking Up as soon as you can .

Author Q&A

1.      Describe Shacking Up using no more than 140 characters (a la Twitter).
Sexy, quirky, with enough sexual tension to light your underwear on fire.

2.      Where did you get inspiration for the character’s names, particularly Bancroft aka Bane?
Once I met a police officer (I wasn’t doing anything illegal) who introduced himself as Bancroft. I thought that was his last name, so I sassily introduced myself by my last name as well. Then he corrected me, telling me that his first name was Bancroft, and I felt obviously ridiculous. He was a mammoth man. He practically had to duck through doorways, so I put that one in the name bank for a rainy day. I also thought it was rather hilarious that it could be shortened to Bane—as in the bane of my existence, which we know Bancroft certainly is not. Ruby is a spunky name and I thought reflected the heroine’s fiery personality.

3.      Shacking Up is hilarious! How easily does the banter between the characters come for you? Do you ever struggle writing the humor in your books?
With Ruby and Bane the banter came easily because there weren’t a lot of social constraints or limitations for them. At the beginning they’re working under the premise of a business arrangement, so the pressure is off and Ruby isn’t really one to hold back,. Neither is Bane for that matter. I have such a fun time creating off the wall, sometimes sexually tense scenes, especially with these two.

4.      Do you ever make yourself laugh when writing a scene?
Yes. I feel weird saying that, but there are times when I’m imagining what is happening as I’m writing and thinking “this is just ridiculous”. My hope is that if I think it’s ridiculous, so will other people, and it will inspire the same reaction. Francesca certainly helped make it a lot easier to fit in fun, light-hearted situations.
5.      What inspired Bane’s exotic choice in pets?
Ferrets are freaking adorable, but they are menaces if they’re left to their own devices. They’re also a lot like dogs and cats, but they require a different kind of care, the fact that they’re illegal in NYC also helped. As for Tiny—I think a lot of people would be reluctant to take care of a giant spider, no matter how cool they are as pets. I felt like both of them would be lend for some funny situations.

6.      The heroes in your Pucked series are all hockey stars, and Bane in Shacking Up is an ex-rugby player. Is it safe to say you have a thing for athletes?
I guess you could say I have a fascination with athletes. That level of physical fitness takes an extraordinary amount of discipline, plus STAMINA!!! More than just being an athlete, I have an affinity for heroes who show loyalty and determination and who are just as much about brain as brawn.
7.      Ruby is a bit of a rebel, defying her family to go after her dreams. What do you love most about her?
I love that despite things not always going her way, she refuses to take the easy way out. Our paths are not always linear and Ruby is very willing to make concessions where she needs to in order to prove to herself and her family that she can attain her goals.

8.      Why are Bane and Ruby so perfect for each other?
They’re both very goal oriented people with the same core values. Ruby is a firecracker and Bane needs someone with that level of sass to challenge him. For Ruby, Bane is an inherent caretaker, BUT he tries not to force that care on her which is something she can appreciate.
9.      Are there any books or authors you’re really excited about right now?
I’m excited for Ann Marie Walkers BLACK TIE OPTIONAL. I recently devoured Jana Aston’s Grind Me Series and Debra Anastasia is writing the most awesome book right now, and I can’t wait until it’s ready for public consumption.

EXCERPT:

“I’m already working my ass off for you.”
“No, your list. For what you want in a woman. Have you graduated to date four yet?”
Irritation skittered across his features. She tried to tamp down her delight. “Not yet.” She waited him out, learning he liked to space out his responses. “I’m seeing her again this Friday,” he added grudgingly.
“Ooh, exciting. Okay, so tell me what floats your boat, Casanova.”
He shuddered. “God, please don’t call me that. Or talk like that.”
“Sorry, I forget you’re a bit high class.”
“No, I just speak proper English.”
“Stop stalling.”
He looked away but she caught the edge of a grin. He’d be loath to admit it, but she made him laugh. And from what she’d seen, this man desperately needed someone to balance all that seriousness. It must be exhausting.
“Fine. What do you want to know?”
She practically clapped her hands with glee. “The same question I answered. Tell me the traits in your perfect woman.”
His arms flexed as he worked the hammer, and her gaze snagged on the lean, sinewy muscles under gorgeous brown skin. Wood chips and dust clung to his figure but it only added to his attractiveness, giving a sense of ruggedness to his normal poised elegance. Yes, women would definitely seek him out for his appearance alone, but she wondered how many stayed after they got a dose of his attitude. He must be on his best behavior to trick them.
“I don’t know why you’re interested in this,” he muttered.
“Tit for tat.”
“It’s simple, really. I know exactly what I’m looking for. I’m ready to get married and have a family.”
“Right away?”
“Yes. My future wife will have a few core qualities that I won’t compromise on. Loyalty, honesty, and dual respect are at the top.”
She cocked her head, studying him. He’d managed to surprise her. “Very thoughtful. Excellent choices.”
“So glad you approve. I need a certain amount of intellectual stimulation, as I’m sure she will, so she cannot be just a pretty face.”
Huh. Maybe she’d been wrong about him. So far, she wholeheartedly agreed with his choices. “Can’t argue with those.”
“I don’t need laugh-out-loud funny, but a sense of humor helps get you through hard times.”
“Agreed.”
“And then she needs to obey, of course.”

REVIEW
After reading Rise By Dylan Allen I have been counting down the days until Remember came out . I would check up on Dylan Allen pages  weekly just  to see if I could get updates on when I could get my hands on this book. When I was able to get an ARC of this book I was thrilled and I Literally devoured  this book  the  minute it arrived on my kindle  and It was fantastic!

In this book we follow Milly and Dean and  these two  used to date when they where in high school and where very serious  , however what  happened with both  of there  fathers caused them to  be  ripped apart. Now Milly  is going through  a divorce and  trying to deal with  all of the changes  that will  affect her and her son because of it . However  as Milly is  trying to her Event Planner business   up and going, one of her biggest clients happen to be Dean and lets just  say  while  there first meeting was not filled with all the 'Reunited & It Feels so good feels "  you could just  tell the minute  there eyes connected every feeling they had towards each other  was reignited . I loved Milly and Dean's story , it was sexy and filled with  swoons but that wasn't just  it , I was  just amazed at how  supportive that are of each other  , these two  go through so much  in this book and through it all they had each other backs and I just loved that . I  feel like now anytime I think of the word soulmates I am going to think of  Milly and  Dean these two where just perfect for each other. Besides the romance I loved seeing the personal  journey  both Milly went through ,her character growth was just  amazing  and in a lot of ways Milly becomes more alive , more vibrant   as you   turn ever page and I just  loved that.We also got to dig deeper into what was going on  with  Milly's dad and what lead Dean's father to do what he did as  well and let me tell you all this , there were many time where  I would think to my self I know how this is going to  play  out ..I was wrong lol .. I was so wrong  ...  this story definitely  went in direction that I didn't  expect   , there were moments when  my  jaw literally dropped this book. Remember was just amazing.

Remember is a sexy , addicting , fun , heartwarming  story  . I loved this book and I NEED the next book!!. Dylan Allen if you are reading  this and you would like to give me a copy of this next book  that would be amazing lol . I can without  a doubt that this is one of my favorite books  of  2017 .If you love all these things in your books you should definitely get copy as soon as you can on June 1 2017.
